Position Overview: 

Join our Enterprise Business Technology team as a Senior Software Engineer, where you'll lead the development of Corporate Communications and Marketing technology solutions. You'll design and deliver high-quality platforms, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise in web content management and data integration will be pivotal in driving innovation and operational excellence. Mentor junior developers and contribute to the full software development lifecycle in this impactful role.

Enterprise Business Technology Office (EBTO) supports multiple verticals by crafting and creating solutions to a variety of technology challenges. This support takes many forms, including delivering automation solutions by building and enhancing software applications using Business Process Management and Low Code Application Platforms required for Internal Audit, Legal and various other divisions at Freddie Mac.

Your Impact:  

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the evolution of our Corporate Communications and Marketing technology solutions- leading solution development with architecture focus providing technology leadership in proposing robust technology solutions which deliver high quality platforms, infrastructure and applications. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Review vendor solutions and internal Freddie Mac technology solutions (including toolsets both AI and non AI)- and work with business Subject matter experts to propose solutions, and take ownership of infrastructure, architecture, and technical oversight for solutioning and implementation of those decisions. 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to map robust technology solutions and estimate project timelines and resources required to implement such solutions. 

  • Ownership of decisions made at design and implementation paths for roadmap items involving web content platform management, infrastructure, tools aligned to goals of the business supporting both internal platforms for employee communication as well as external facing technologies required to manage content and communications delivery for Freddie Mac.  

  • Oversee platform integration with enterprise tools without gaps in mandatory and compliance items involving deep design thinking and ability to drive solutions 

  • Design and develop or maintain architecture diagrams and contribute to architecture and technical implementation of personalization, content management, and regulatory compliance related artifacts (TCPA, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA). 

  • Ensure operational excellence for platform reliability and deliverability. 

  • Mentor junior developers on design thinking and implementation reviews. 

  • Conduct an aggregate/summary of RCA or blameless postmortems to analyze technology gaps and be engaged with full SDLC cycle providing tech leadership

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or other related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Advanced studies/degree preferred  

  • 5-7 years of Technology experiences in hands on programming and developing and delivering high quality engineering deliverables

  • Highly proficient in Full Stack development (React, Java script, Python, Java, Angular). Experience with AWS.

  • Ability to analyze system architecture and contribute to design planning.

  • Experience with enterprise-grade web content management platforms (Acquia, SiteCorp or similar frameworks) is desired.

  • Expertise in managing landscape of tools related to knowledge management and content tools (Ex Drupal) is desired.

  • Technical knowledge of communication channels, deliverability, and compliance. 

  • Experience collaborating with business leaders in marketing, HR, legal, and compliance teams. 

  • Ability to manage dependencies with vendors or internal engineering teams for software delivery.

  • Experience with Ping/Single Sign-On, Bitbucket pipelines, Content Delivery Network (Cloudflare, etc.), website monitoring tools (New Relic, etc.) and a solid understanding of DNS, TLS certificates, REST APIs, and caching strategies.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $129,000 - $193,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
