National Director - Claims

Canada’s fastest-moving InsurTech MGA, is seeking a strategic and experienced claims leader.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead and oversee Forward’s national claims operations across all lines.
• Develop and execute claims strategies, policies, workflows, and best practices aligned with business objectives and carrier expectations.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to claims team members, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
• Establish and monitor key performance metrics, service standards, and operational reporting.
• Oversee complex, high-severity, and escalated claims, providing technical guidance and strategic direction on coverage, liability, and settlement decisions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with independent adjusters, legal counsel, and external vendors.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to internal governance, carrier guidelines, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of insurance claims experience
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership or management role
• CIP / FCIP or additional designations considered a strong asset
• Deep technical knowledge of coverage analysis, claims adjudication, litigation management, and large-loss claims handling
• Strong leadership, relationship, and change management capabilities

Salary Range: CAD $100,000-$150,000

• Actual pay may be below or above range based on candidates' knowledge, skills, and level of ability relative to expectations for the role applied to. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply.
