About the Department of Social Sciences The Department of Social Sciences encompasses three academic areas — International Studies, Public Policy, and Sociology — and offers courses across programmes in the Faculty of Liberal Education.

Position Overview The Department of Social Sciences invites applications from qualified scholars and practitioners for Visiting Faculty positions for AY 2026–27.

Visiting

Faculty will be responsible for teaching one or more courses at the undergraduate level related to the areas of specialisations in the list below, spread across both semesters of the academic year.

• Engagement Type: Contractual
• Expected number of sessions per course: 40-45 hours
• Remuneration: 2000-3000/- per hour based on experience and qualifications, as approved by the Dean.
• Location: FLAME University Campus, Pune, Maharashtra Areas of Specialisations Applications are invited from candidates with expertise in any of the following specialisations, grouped by academic area:
• International Studies: India's Foreign Relations; Government and Politics of the United States; Politics of South Asia; Advanced IR Theory; European Union; Geopolitics of West Asia
• Public Policy: Law and Jurisprudence; Economic Perspectives of Public Policy; Gender and Development; Health Policy
• Sociology: Social Demography; Sociology of Ageing;

Education and Society; Health and Society Eligibility Criteria Essential Qualifications - Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, or a related field) OR significant professional or practitioner expertise in the relevant subject area.

• Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate level in a liberal arts or interdisciplinary setting.
• Strong command of the subject matter, as evidenced by publications, professional experience, or prior teaching.

Preferred Qualifications - PhD Degree in a relevant discipline (International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, or a related field)

• Prior teaching experience at a recognised university or institution of higher education.
• Research publications or policy and practice contributions in the relevant area.
• Familiarity with student-centred, discussion-based pedagogy.

Key Responsibilities - Design and deliver lectures, seminars, and assessments for the assigned course(s).

• Prepare a detailed course outline, reading list, and assessment plan in consultation with the Head of the Department.
• Hold office hours and engage with students on academic matters.
• Maintain academic standards and comply with university policies and procedures.
• Submit grades and course-related documentation within stipulated timelines.
