RESEARCHER – .75 Full-Time Equivalent
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority is a dynamic and evolving First Nations healthcare agency that provides health program support to its four northern partners: Prince Albert Grand Council, Meadow Lake Tribal Council, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation.
POSITION MANDATE
The NITHA Researcher will work with special projects at NITHA, such as the Cancer Project, and is responsible for working with and supporting Project Coordinators, Leads, Steering Committee members, and Partners to plan, implement, and coordinate research activities, and assist in evaluating the project(s). The Researcher works in collaboration internally with NITHA Public Health Unit Staff and the Medical Health Officer (MHO), and externally with NITHA Partner organizations and other stakeholders such as the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field, specializing in research analysis.
- At least two (2) years of experience working in a statistical research and analysis setting is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of research methodologies, program evaluation, performance measures, analysis principles, techniques, and ethics.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the First Nations principles of OCAP.
- Demonstrated ability to research and analyze statistical data and service trends information and to summarize information to assist with the development and maintenance of the project(s).
- Experience working within a First Nations organization and/or speaking a First Nations language is an asset.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality for sensitive information.
- Works independently and with groups.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license and can travel as required.
