Position Summary

As a Lab Technician, you will play an important role in the daily operation of the laboratory by providing exceptional customer service, performing specimen collections, assisting employers and individual clients, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting business development efforts.

No two days are exactly alike. This position combines customer service, laboratory operations, administrative responsibilities, and occasional mobile testing opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and provide an exceptional customer experience from arrival through completion of testing.
• Answer incoming telephone calls, respond to customer inquiries, and assist clients in scheduling services.
• Perform urine, alcohol, saliva, hair, fingernail, and DNA specimen collections in accordance with company procedures and chain-of-custody requirements.
• Perform rapid drug and alcohol testing using approved screening devices.
• Prepare, package, and ship specimens to reference laboratories.
• Accurately complete all required documentation and maintain confidential records.
• Collect payments and process client paperwork.
• Report results using established company protocols.
• Maintain inventory of testing supplies and laboratory materials.
• Assist with client outreach and business development activities.
• Support community outreach and social media initiatives.
• Open and close the laboratory.
• Participate in mobile and on-site testing events during business hours and, when scheduled, after hours.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional laboratory environment.
• Prepare testing supplies, forms, and equipment.
• Assist fellow team members whenever needed.
• Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Friendly, professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.
• Quick learner with a positive attitude and willingness to grow.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, reach, kneel, and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to work with urine, saliva, hair, fingernail specimens, and standard cleaning solutions.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods as needed.
