Junior Software Engineer (QA)

Key responsibilities:

1. Assist in manual testing of software applications, including basic API testing under guidance from senior QA members.

2. Create and execute test cases based on functional requirements and user stories.

3. Identify, document, and report software defects/bugs using bug tracking tools as per project guidelines.

4. Support the team in preparing test scenarios and use cases for application features.

5. Participate in test execution, regression testing, and basic functional testing of web and mobile applications.

6. Assist in maintaining test documentation, including test cases, test results, and defect logs.

7. Collaborate with developers and QA team members to reproduce and verify reported issues.

8. Contribute to basic QA effort estimation and testing task planning with guidance from senior team members.

9. Participate in agile/scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Other Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering/MCA.

2. 1–1.5 years of experience in software testing/quality assurance.

3. Basic understanding of manual testing concepts and software testing life cycle (STLC).

4. Basic knowledge of web services / API testing (Postman or similar tools preferred).

5. Basic understanding of application architecture and web/mobile application testing.

6. Familiarity with CI/CD concepts is a plus.

7. Basic exposure to test automation tools is good to have.

8. Understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

9. Ability to write clear and structured test cases and test scenarios.

10. Experience working in an agile/scrum development environment.

11. Basic knowledge of SQL queries and database testing.

12. Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, Redmine, or similar tools.
