Job description

The technician would prepare samples for Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) utilizing direct and indirect prep methods.  The technician would, in addition, prepare and analyze samples for Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM).  Technician would be responsible for sample preparations as described within laboratory Standard Operating Procedures, accurately entering data in the LIMS, reporting to clients, and general laboratory maintenance and cleaning.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Air, Dust, Wipe and Water samples for analysis by TEM
  • Prepare and analyze Air samples by PCM
  • Accurately enter laboratory observations and data into the LIMS
  • Be able to work independently while coordinating work with co-workers
  • Performs and completes necessary and assigned laboratory QC tasks
  • Archiving and disposal of samples
  • Perform laboratory cleaning tasks of glassware, equipment, and surfaces
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Calibrate and prepare TEM grids for use in preparation procedures
  • Understand and follow laboratory Standard Operating Procedures
  • Be available for on call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Candidates must have some college or laboratory experience
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Compensation range: $20 - $22 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Position is  Full-time, Tuesday thru Saturday, 10:30am - 7:00pm plus overtime and weekends as needed.
