Job Description
Ethic is hiring a Data Analyst, Sustainability with 0 - 3 years of experience. Based in United States - New York, NY and with Hybrid ways of working.
Job description and responsibilities: As a member of the Sustainability Data team, you will work with various members of the Sustainability team to enhance our use and reporting of large amounts of sustainability data and how it is applied within our model. This role will involve building a deep understanding of our data and model operations and collaborating with multiple stakeholders on ways to improve it. As you become more comfortable, we expect you will lead and shape new initiatives using our flexible data architecture and fast-paced product development cycle. Your work will directly influence client strategies and you will have opportunities, if interested, to generate data insights and collaborate on content creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure seamless integration of data-related tools and processes
- Develop expertise in different sustainability data sets and manage their updates, quality checks, and integrations
- Explore new sustainability data sets according to our data criteria and prototype potential applications
- Improve procedures to assess data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and validity and develop metrics to track data quality over time
- Translate outcomes and data into compelling visualizations using tools like Tableau, Looker, or ggplot2/Python
- Collaborate with other teams on initiatives around data management and utilization
- Generate insights on our sustainability model and client portfolios
- Support regular updates to the Sustainability Model and identify areas of operational improvements
- Proactively seek out opportunities for automation and ways to drive greater efficiency

What you'll bring to the table:
- 2+ years of full-time work experience (ideal candidates may have analytics experience in a field with sustainability applications, e.g. energy analysis, life cycle analysis, sustainability research or consulting, impact analysis, etc. )
- Strong quantitative skills and experience working with moderately large, structured datasets
- Familiarity with exploratory data analysis and basic descriptive statistics
- Keen on data insights and visualization and familiar with visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of querying databases and scripting (e.g., SQL, Python)
- Interest or experience in database management and data vendor coordination
- Passion about environmental and social impact
- Keen attention to detail and drive to investigate
