Role Overview:

The Finance Controller / Senior Manager Finance will be responsible for driving strong financial governance across the organization, with a focus on inventory control, budgeting, MIS reporting, and financial discipline. This role is critical in supporting the company's scale-up phase, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Control & Compliance

• Establish and maintain robust financial controls and accounting processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders.

2. Inventory & Cost Management

• Own inventory accounting, valuation, and reconciliation across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Implement strong controls over inventory movement, consumption, and shrinkage.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure accurate costing and inventory visibility.
• Mandatory: Minimum 23 years of hands-on inventory handling experience, preferably in a manufacturing or hardware environment.

3. Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and periodic re-forecasting exercises.
• Track budget vs actuals and provide variance analysis with clear insights.
• Support leadership with financial inputs for capacity expansion, hiring, and capex planning.

4. MIS & Reconciliations

• Prepare and review monthly MIS packs for management and investors.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of general ledger, inventory, bank accounts, and cost centers.
• Deliver timely and reliable financial dashboards to support decision-making.

5. Systems, Process & Scale Enablement

• Strengthen SOPs, internal controls, and finance processes as the company scales.
• Drive adoption and optimization of ERP systems (Odoo experience preferred).
• Identify opportunities for automation, reporting efficiency, and process improvements.

Key Requirements

• Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in finance control, accounting, and reporting
• Minimum 2-3 years of inventory accounting / handling experience
• Strong expertise in budgeting, MIS, reconciliations, and financial controls
• Experience in manufacturing domain Mandatory
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-growing startup setting
