About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Event Manager who will be responsible for planning and executing high-impact event activations and full-scale events (in person and virtual) designed to engage, inform, and inspire real estate investors. The ideal candidate will excel at creating memorable experiences that effectively communicate our brand values, build investor confidence, and drive results.
Experience in the field of Finance and/or real estate would be ideal. Successful candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in event management and be available to work at the company’s head office in Burlington, ON.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Event Manager is responsible for all aspects of Equiton’s event activations.
- Work cross-functionally to plan compelling and relevant event activations
- Understand the requirements for each event and plan them with attention to financial and time constraints
- Research and evaluate relevant events, providing data-driven recommendations on which to attend based on alignment with organizational goals, ROI potential, networking opportunities, and competitor presence
- Research vendors and suppliers and choose the best combination of quality and cost
- Negotiate with organizers to achieve the most favorable terms (location, speaking time, etc.)
- Manage event budgets, vendor relationships, and logistics, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion
- Do final checks at events (e.g. booth, technology, presentations) to ensure everything meets standards
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines
- Produce consistent and error-free content that adheres to the company’s high standards
- Evaluate each event’s success based on established key performance indicators and provide postmortem and recommendations for future events
What You Bring:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar position (financial or real estate experience an asset)
- Degree in marketing, communications, business, tourism, hospitality administration, or relevant field
- A proven track record of organizing successful events with strong budget management and reporting
- Exceptional vendor management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships while operating with tact, diplomacy, and integrity
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities, with an anticipatory, proactive, and responsive mindset that requires minimal guidance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with special focus on PowerPoint
- Thrives in a fast-paced growth environment with a strong work ethic, reliability, and team oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events
The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually, plus discretionary bonuses and/or commission. The actual base salary offered will take into consideration factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s skill, experience, and relevant education or training.
