In this role, you will help maintain and enhance shared technology solutions and infrastructure that support organizational service delivery. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop, test, launch, and refine technologies that improve both internal and external client experiences. Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement, and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
What you’ll do:
- Supporting the implementation of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that ensure effective architecture, governance, and management of technical systems.
- Collaborating with Business and IT teams on solution design, development, and quality management across shared infrastructure and applications.
- Improving system and product quality by identifying issues, performing maintenance, and implementing solutions in partnership with internal and external teams.
- Conducting hands‑on configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and replacement of hardware and/or application software.
- Maintaining internal processes and quality documentation to uphold established standards.
- Inspecting systems and workflows to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and performance.
- Monitoring technology capacity, performance, and operational availability to ensure integrity and reliability.
- Providing technical guidance to peers and end‑users to support the continuous delivery of shared solutions.
- Following established operational processes and identifying gaps or risks that could expose the organization to operational issues.
- Supporting specialized work related to big data, database design, data systems, and analytical architecture.
What you’ll bring:
- A minimum of 3+ years of IT experience.
- A post‑secondary degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
- SQL Server tool certifications relevant to the specialty area.
- Strong technical skills across relevant sub‑specialties, including data pipelines, data architectures, and optimized data sets.
- Experience with data warehouse administration or data system architecture.
- Proficiency with object‑oriented scripting languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Expertise in data modelling and building data warehouses, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models for relational database systems.
- Ability to research and resolve complex or unique technical problems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for varied audiences.
- A growth mindset with a proactive approach to feedback, continuous improvement, and innovative thinking.
- Experience with modern data and development tools, including Azure, Synapse, MS DevOps, PySpark, Python, stored procedures, and developing APIs.
