Temporary Customer Service Advisor

Job Summary

We’re seeking a short-term associate for our busy print & ship store - a retail environment where you’ll support daily customer needs in shipping, printing, and mailbox services. This role is straightforward, customer-focused, and perfect for someone with retail or shipping store experience.

Responsibilities

● Assist customers with all shipping needs: selecting carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx), calculating shipping rates, packaging items securely, and processing shipments.

● Print shipping labels, customs forms, and other documents accurately using in-store software and printers.

● Manage mailbox rentals: maintain existing mailbox accounts, process payments, distribute incoming mail/packages to mailbox holders, and answer questions about rental terms.

● Help with basic printing services (e.g., copying, scanning, document printing) as needed, ensuring quality and clarity.

● Maintain organized records of shipments, mailbox rentals, and customer transactions using the store’s computer system.

● Keep the front counter and service areas clean, stocked with packaging supplies (tape, boxes, bubble wrap), and visually tidy.

● Address customer inquiries politely—whether about shipping timelines, costs, or service options—and resolve minor issues to ensure satisfaction.

Experience

● Must have prior experience in a shipping store (e.g., UPS Store, FedEx Office, local print & ship shops) or a retail customer service environment.

● Familiarity with shipping software, label printing tools, and basic office equipment (printers, scanners) is essential.

● Comfortable using computers and basic software (e.g., Microsoft Office, store-specific POS systems).

● Strong communication skills and a patient, helpful attitude—you’ll interact with customers daily, so friendliness is key!

● Ability to multitask (e.g., helping a customer ship a package while assisting another with mailbox pickup) in a fast-paced but low-stress setting.
