We are looking for a Mechanical Technician I to join our Gas Transmission and Midstream team. In this hands-on field role, you will develop and apply your mechanical expertise to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical compressor station equipment that supports the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of natural gas. Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair compressor station equipment, including air systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, air dryer systems, and gas compression equipment.
Support the safe and reliable operation of facilities by identifying and responding to abnormal equipment conditions.
Complete preventative and corrective maintenance activities to help ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and operational reports.
Follow Company policies, operating procedures, and O&M manuals while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Collaborate with coworkers, contractors, and other stakeholders to complete maintenance activities and support operational goals.
Assist with additional operational tasks, including equipment operation, measurement, telecommunications, and other field activities as required by business needs.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Minimum of two years of directly related training and/or experience.
Working knowledge of maintenance and repair practices for pipelines, compressor stations, and related operational equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Proficiency with standard computer and office software applications.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
Commitment to safety and a demonstrated understanding of safe work practices.
Experience working in natural gas transmission, compressor station, pipeline, industrial, energy, or heavy equipment environments.
Experience troubleshooting rotating equipment, engines, compressors, pumps, or auxiliary station systems.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and maintenance practices associated with pipeline operations.
Technical, vocational, apprenticeship, or trade-related education in mechanical maintenance or a related discipline.
Primarily field-based work performed outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
Regular use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be available to work overtime, weekends, shift schedules, on-call rotations, and standby assignments as required.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Must reside within, or be willing to relocate within, 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
