Risk Manager

Location: Great Neck, NY (On-Site, 5 Days/Week)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Compensation: $140,000- $150,000

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Risk Manager to oversee and proactively manage risk across our portfolio of commercial real estate assets. This individual will play a critical role in protecting the firm by identifying exposures, managing claims, and implementing preventative strategies that support operational excellence and long-term asset value.

Working cross-functionally with acquisitions, asset management, property management, and finance, the Risk Manager will ensure informed decision-making and drive a disciplined, proactive approach to risk across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Claims Management

• Oversee all general liability claims, including slip-and-fall and personal injury matters
• Conduct thorough incident investigations, including gathering reports, photos, surveillance, and witness statements
• Serve as the primary point of contact with claimants, attorneys, insurance carriers, and brokers
• Drive early resolution strategies and negotiate settlements to minimize financial and legal exposure
• Coordinate and manage defense counsel throughout litigation processes
• Maintain detailed claim files, reserves, and settlement tracking

Insurance & Compliance

• Review and assess insurance coverage to ensure alignment with portfolio risk profile
• Support insurance renewals, including preparation and analysis of loss-run data
• Monitor vendor insurance certificates and ensure compliance with contractual indemnification requirements
• Coordinate timely and accurate claims reporting with insurance carriers

Risk Management & Loss Prevention

• Identify recurring risks and potential hazards across the portfolio
• Partner with property management teams to implement loss prevention initiatives
• Develop and deliver training on incident reporting, documentation, and best practices
• Conduct audits of property safety procedures and maintenance protocols

Reporting & Strategic Oversight

• Track claim trends, loss ratios, and overall risk exposure across the portfolio
• Prepare regular reporting and insights for senior leadership
• Recommend operational and procedural improvements to mitigate future risk

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $140,000 - $150,000
