Position Summary
The Regional Business Development Manager – Atlantic Canada is responsible for driving profitable growth by developing strategic relationships with insurance carriers, commercial clients, brokers, and other key industry stakeholders throughout Atlantic Canada.
Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development, this role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships, and supporting DKI members in achieving sustainable regional growth. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients while representing DKI Canada’s national capabilities and local service excellence.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial sales professional who thrives on building long-term relationships, uncovering client needs, and delivering consultative solutions. The successful candidate combines strategic thinking with disciplined execution and is passionate about creating value for clients while contributing to DKI Canada’s continued growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Development
- Develop and execute an annual regional business development strategy aligned with DKI Canada’s national growth objectives.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within insurance carriers, commercial organizations, brokers, and strategic partners.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to consistently achieve or exceed revenue and growth targets.
- Manage the complete business development lifecycle from prospecting and qualification through presentation, negotiation, closing, and ongoing relationship management.
- Represent DKI Canada at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions to identify new growth opportunities.
Strategic Account Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned regional and national accounts.
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with key client stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
- Ensure client expectations are clearly understood and consistently exceeded.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships through cross-selling and additional service offerings.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to strengthen partnerships and identify future opportunities.
- Resolve client concerns promptly while coordinating internal resources to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Monitor account performance and communicate customer insights to internal stakeholders.
Member Growth & Collaboration
- Partner with DKI members throughout Atlantic Canada to support local business development initiatives.
- Assist members in developing regional sales strategies and client engagement plans.
- Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, National Accounts, and Member Services to ensure a coordinated client experience.
- Share market intelligence, competitive insights, and emerging opportunities with members and leadership.
- Support the successful implementation of national client initiatives within the region.
Sales Planning & Performance
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast using the corporate CRM platform.
- Track key account metrics, business development activities, and regional performance indicators.
- Prepare monthly territory updates, forecasts, and business development reports.
- Achieve or exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activities.
- Participate in regional and national sales meetings while contributing to the ongoing improvement of sales strategies and processes.
Marketing & Client Engagement
- Collaborate with regional members to develop annual business development and marketing plans.
- Support regional marketing initiatives designed to increase brand awareness and client engagement.
- Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, educational sessions, and industry presentations.
- Participate in the development of proposals, Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and client presentations.
- Promote attendance at regional events, seminars, and educational programs that strengthen DKI Canada’s market presence.
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual business development reports.
- Communicate sales activities, market trends, competitive intelligence, and client feedback to leadership.
- Utilize CRM and reporting tools to provide meaningful insights into regional performance.
- Maintain strong communication with regional members and internal departments to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of DKI Canada’s sales processes and client experience.

Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Professional sales or insurance designations are considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive consultative sales or business development experience.
- Experience within the insurance, restoration, construction, or commercial services industries is strongly preferred.
- Proven success developing strategic client relationships and achieving sales targets.
- Experience managing complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working independently within a defined geographic territory.
