Join us to be a part of this transformative journey, where your impact will shape the future of technology and production.</div><h2>Purpose</h2> The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs across Divergent’s advanced manufacturing operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements while proactively building a safety-first culture within a highly automated production environment that includes additive manufacturing, robotics, CNC machining, and materials processing. The EHS Engineer will partner closely with manufacturing, facilities, and engineering teams to identify hazards, reduce risk, and implement scalable safety systems that support Divergent’s rapidly growing, high-tech production platform.  <h2>The Role</h2> <ul> <li>Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, EPA, and industry standards. </li> <li>Conduct risk assessments, job hazard assessments (JHAs), and incident investigations to identify event causes and implement robust, sustainable corrective actions. </li> <li>Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure safe design and operation of automated production systems, robotics, additive manufacturing equipment, and CNC operations. </li> <li>Lead environmental compliance initiatives including waste management, air emissions, hazardous materials handling, and sustainability practices. </li> <li>Monitor and maintain safety documentation, procedures, and training records. </li> <li>Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and leadership. </li> <li>Perform regular audits and inspections of manufacturing, laboratory, and facility environments. </li> <li>Track and analyze safety metrics, incident data, and leading indicators to drive continuous improvement. </li> <li>Support emergency preparedness programs including drills, response plans, and incident management. </li> <li>Collaborate with facilities and operations teams to ensure safe facility expansions, equipment installations, and process changes. </li> </ul> <h2>Basic Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field. </li> <li>3–7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or industrial environments. </li> <li>Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, environmental compliance programs, and industry standards. </li> <li>Experience performing risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations. </li> <li>Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership teams. </li> <li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. </li> <li>Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls </li> </ul> <h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Experience in advanced manufacturing environments (robotics, additive manufacturing, automated production). </li> <li>Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM. </li> <li>Experience with hazardous materials management, chemical safety, or industrial hygiene. </li> <li>Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. </li> <li>Experience supporting rapidly scaling or high-growth manufacturing operations. </li> </ul> <h2>Work Environment</h2> <ul> <li>On-site within a high-tech manufacturing facility. </li> <li>Exposure to production environments including additive manufacturing systems, robotics, and machining operations. </li> <li>Ability to walk the production floor regularly and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">Pay Range</div><div class="pay-range">$128,520—$176,720 USD</div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion">What We Offer: <ul> <li>Holistic Compensation Package: Enjoy a world-class compensation package that includes a competitive salary, equity plan, and discretionary results-based incentive bonus opportunities, ensuring you're truly valued for your contributions.</li> <li>Wellness and Time Off: Embrace a healthy lifestyle with paid vacation, sick time, and company holidays, including a year-end shutdown to recharge.
