Job Title: TechOps Backend Engineer (Python, AWS, PostgreSQL)

Location: Remote

Shift: 3 PM – 12 AM IST

Employment Type: Contract ( 6 Months)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced TechOps Backend Engineer with strong expertise in backend development, relational databases, and cloud infrastructure. The role involves maintaining system continuity, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing backend solutions across on-premise and AWS environments.

You will work closely with technical teams to investigate system issues, implement improvements, and ensure reliable and scalable backend services.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain production systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Investigate and resolve issues across on-premise and cloud-based applications.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
• Design and develop backend services using Python.
• Work with PostgreSQL / Oracle databases to manage and optimize queries.
• Build and support applications deployed on AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborate with technical teams to translate requirements into implementation plans.
• Conduct unit and functional testing for new or modified features.
• Follow SDLC processes and deployment protocols for production releases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues across environments.
• Continuously improve system performance and operational workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Python backend development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Postgres or Oracle).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, API Gateway, or Kinesis.
• Experience building and supporting end-to-end backend solutions.
• Proficiency in Java and Bash scripting.
• Experience working with Elasticsearch or similar search engines.
• Experience with Git-based version control (GitHub, GitLab).
• Experience with Docker and cloud architecture best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Airflow or orchestration tools.
• Experience working with ETL pipelines.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• AWS certifications are a plus.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
