JOB POSTING: Workers’ Compensation specialist
Firm: Dimeski Law
Position: Lawyer or Paralegal - Casual
Hours of Work: 5-10 hours/week – no set working days
Location: Remote
Pay: $25 - $50 per hour (depending on experience)

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
· 3 -5 years of experience and knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and related legislation
· Knowledge of medical and legal terminology as it relates to workplace insurance matters
· Oral communication skills to provide advice and information, interview witnesses
· Written communication skills to obtain complex information from experts and create effective submissions to adjudicators
· research skills to support legal arguments using caselaw, WSIB policies, textbooks, medical documents, and articles
· Able to probe in interviews, gather and assess information and develop case strategies and arguments
· Interpersonal skills to establish client trust and confidence and work effectively in a team environment
· Have an understanding of the client relationship and respect abidance for confidentiality
JOB DESCRIPTION
· Drafting WSIB appeals and submissions
· Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing and summarizing clients’ employment, medical, and other documents, legal research, drafting of submissions, and court/tribunal forms. You will also assemble books of documents for filing, and work with the firm’s lawyers and paralegals to prepare for oral argument.
This is a remote position. As such, you are expected to be highly proficient in using technology to receive assignments, complete tasks, record-keep, docket, as well as communicate with clients and the team. Training will be provided for the firm’s task management and billings software.
Dimeski Law takes mentorship seriously. We encourage communication with the firm’s principal lawyers to discuss the goals for each case, strategies, and next steps.
