Meet the team:
In this role, the Senior Staff Process Development Engineer will lead technical projects related to product/process development and provide expertise in design and understanding product/process/system impacts on device performance.
The Applicator Process Development team provides global ownership of new device product introduction to high volume manufacturing. As part of the Operations organization, the team ensures product and manufacturing modernization along with improvements for safety, and reliability resulting in positive outcomes for our users every day. The team has expertise across many subject areas and experience levels, leading to a collaborative environment with innovative solutions.
Where you come in:
You are the main Operations technical resource: You will design, document, and optimize new manufacturing processes, test methods and procedures for new and existing products in both a clean environment room (CER) and laboratory setting. This includes new rework processes and transfer.
You will drive and define technical requirements (applicator, transmitter, wearable) and specifications for scaled production, ensure the necessary assembly/test solutions and execute for on-time delivery of project goals.
You will partner with key R&D, QA, site personnel to evaluate, refine, and gain approval to meet objectives with minimal oversight.
You will provide guidance and training to test lab associates, plant operators, and engineers on test methods and corresponding results analysis.
You will identify appropriate analytical tools and equipment required to meet process goals from concept to implementation.
You will resolve complex product/process development and manufacturing issues and take lead of working cross functional teams to solve.
You could be asked to investigate field failures, perform failure analysis and determine root cause in order to improve product robustness and reliability.
Independently manages and prioritizes projects, tracks progress toward overall goals, and provides periodic updates to management.
You will be asked to demonstrate initiative by seeking out new projects that can positively impact the organization in all aspects of product life cycle in all manufacturing facilities by reducing scrap, increasing gross margins and improving productivity.
What makes you successful:
You are excellent at communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills. Able to organize and prioritize assignments providing direction to and participation in assigned functional teams.
You have a strong background in product design lifecycle and overall product technical transfer to manufacturing including in process and bench test methods.
You obtain expertise in study design, data analysis, statistical techniques and interpretation of results.
You have the ability to deal with ambiguity/uncertainty and a willingness to try new/challenging things.
You have a proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
You are eager to share, or tryout new ideas, perspectives, or solutions.
You are coach and mentor fellow engineers, operators, and technicians complete their activities when opportunities arise.
You are detailed oriented with strong time management skills.
You are able to coach and mentor younger engineers and scientists in test method development and execution.

Education and Experience:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 13+ years related experience or a Master’s degree and 8+ years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 5+ years of experience.
