About the Candidate
Our ideal candidate would have the following Education and Experience:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Security+, etc.) are highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in database administration, specifically with SQL and Oracle databases.
- Experience in the mining industry with a strong understanding of mining applications, Wenco, Komatsu, or Caterpillar would be preferred.
- Proven experience with SQL queries, stored. procedures, jobs and scheduling, and database backups.
- Extensive experience in administering Microsoft Windows Servers, including general administration, patching, and server configuration.
- Solid experience providing technical application support in an OT (Operational Technology) environment, including user administration and troubleshooting user system issues.
- Hands-on experience or strong knowledge of OT data archive systems, particularly PI Data Historian and PI Vision.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cyber security best practices, including OT and process systems network architecture, network configuration, and firewall management.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and manipulation using Power BI, MS Access, and Excel, with a solid understanding of macros and queries.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration (SQL and Oracle)
- Manage and maintain SQL and Oracle databases ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
- Develop and execute SQL queries and stored procedures to support application functionality.
- Schedule and manage SQL jobs to automate routine database tasks.
- Perform regular database backups and ensure recovery procedures are in place.
Microsoft Windows Server Administration
- Perform general administration tasks for Microsoft Windows Servers including user management, security settings, and resource allocation.
- Apply patches and updates to servers to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Configure and optimize server settings to meet the specific needs of the organization.
OT Technical Application Support
- Administer user accounts and access for OT (Operational Technology) applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues faced by users in the OT environment.
- Provide technical support and training to users as needed.
OT Data Archive Management
- Manage and maintain PI Data Historian systems to ensure accurate and timely data collection and storage.
- Utilize PI Vision for data visualization and analysis to support operational decisions.
Cyber Security
- Implement and maintain best practices for OT and process systems network architecture to ensure robust security.
- Configure and manage firewalls to protect network integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
- Stay current with cyber security trends and apply knowledge to enhance the organization's security posture.
Data Analysis and Manipulation
- Extract and analyze data from various sources using Power BI, MS Access, and Excel.
- Create and modify macros and queries to perform data manipulation and calculations.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience in building, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware.
- Knowledge of fleet management practices and experience in managing a fleet of vehicles.
- Familiarity with VM (Virtual Machine) software and infrastructure management.
- Experience with XHQ Data Visualization tools for presenting complex data effectively.
