Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior UAV Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and validation of unmanned aircraft systems. You will work on next-generation aerospace platforms, collaborating across engineering disciplines to integrate airframe, avionics, propulsion, and mission systems into high-performance aircraft.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering foundation who wants exposure to the complete aircraft development lifecycle. You will work closely with design, avionics, software, propulsion, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure systems are properly integrated and documented.
The role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in aircraft development while building expertise in systems engineering principles and practices.
Key responsibilties
I. Systems Integration Support
- Support the integration of aircraft subsystems including:
- Avionics
- Flight control systems
- Power systems
- Communications systems
- Payload systems
- Assist in identifying and resolving system-level integration issues.
- Coordinate with different engineering teams during integration activities.
II. Requirements & Documentation
- Support the creation and maintenance of:
- Requirements documents
- Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Verification plans
- Test reports
- Maintain engineering records and configuration documentation.
- Assist in requirements tracking and traceability activities.
III. Testing & Validation
- Participate in:
- Bench testing
- Ground testing
- Hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Flight test preparation
- Execute test procedures and record results.
- Assist with troubleshooting and root-cause investigations.
IV. Data Analysis
- Analyse test and flight data.
- Prepare technical summaries and reports.
- Support performance evaluation and verification activities.
V. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Design Engineers
- Avionics Engineers
- Software Engineers
- Manufacturing Engineers
- Flight Test Teams
- Ensure technical information is communicated clearly across teams.
VI. Continuous Improvement
- Support process improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards, templates, and best practices.
- Stay up to date with developments in UAV technologies and systems engineering.
VII. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
Preferred Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in:
- UAVs
- Aerospace projects
- Robotics
- Autonomous systems
OR
- Final-year projects, internships, research projects, or student competition teams involving aircraft, drones, robotics, or embedded systems.
Technical Skills
Basic understanding of:
- Aircraft systems
- UAV operations
- Flight control systems
- Electrical and electronic systems
- Sensors and communication systems
Familiarity with any of the following is desirable:
