Senior Software Engineer (Java) - Based in India

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our remote team in India. In this role, you will be responsible for building and enhancing backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and MySQL, delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions in an Agile setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and support backend applications and REST APIs using Java ecosystem technologies.
• Convert business and technical requirements into efficient, maintainable, and secure code.
• Write and maintain automated tests, including unit and integration test cases.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Improve system scalability, performance, and monitoring capabilities.
• Identify, debug, and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Manage deployments and version control workflows using Git-based repositories and CI/CD pipelines.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials.
• Work closely with globally distributed teams and actively contribute to Agile ceremonies.
• Follow application security guidelines and ensure compliance with data protection standards.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in backend software development with Java.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, REST APIs, and MySQL.
• Good understanding of authentication, authorization, secure development practices, and exception handling.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and code quality processes.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualification is a plus).
