Job Description

As a Relationship Manager in the Institutional Banking Group, your role involves managing and sustaining a portfolio of corporate customers by building long-term relationships and providing efficient support for their business needs. You will work closely with product groups and colleagues to expand the client base and increase wallet share from existing and new customers. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Managing relationships with corporate clients through regular interaction and account mapping at various levels within client organizations to ensure a risk-adjusted portfolio contribution.
  • Identifying and recommending products that meet customer needs, proactively selling these products, and customizing new products to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Implementing the business strategy to increase market share, achieve revenue targets, and cross-sell other banking products.
  • Monitoring customer satisfaction levels, regulatory compliance, and assisting in audits to ensure highest customer retention and increase wallet share.
  • Developing the DBS brand in the region, conducting market research, and building a high-performing team through coaching and performance development.

Your job duties and responsibilities will involve being the primary contact for key corporate personnel, advising on financial structures, growing the team's portfolio profitability, formulating business development strategies, and ensuring adherence to risk management guidelines. You will also be responsible for developing customer relationship plans, monitoring service quality standards, and managing the risk profile for the overall team portfolio.

To excel in this role, you should have 7-12 years of experience in corporate banking, a proven track record in commercial banking, sound understanding of products and credit proposals, and knowledge of competitors and market trends. An MBA or CA with banking experience is preferred.

Your core competencies should include strong selling and negotiation skills, excellent communication and diagnostic abilities, sound financial counseling skills, and proven leadership experience. Additionally, you should possess technical competencies in corporate banking products, credit proposals, regulatory guidelines, financial analysis, and risk assessment.

You will work closely with RM's, sales teams, credit departments, and internal support functions to maximize opportunities and ensure smooth delivery to customers.
