We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Licensed Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists and pharmacy operations, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications and providing exceptional customer service to patients. Responsibilities

• Medication Dispensing: Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Count, pour, measure, and package medications according to prescription orders and regulatory guidelines.
• Medication Management: Maintain inventory of medications and pharmacy supplies, including ordering, stocking, and organizing shelves. Rotate stock, check expiration dates, and dispose of expired or unusable medications in accordance with pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Customer Service: Greet customers, answer phones, and assist with inquiries in a courteous and professional manner. Provide information on medication availability, pricing, and insurance coverage. Address patient concerns and inquiries with empathy and discretion.
• Prescription Processing: Receive and process prescription orders from patients, physicians, and healthcare providers. Enter prescription information accurately into the pharmacy computer system, verify insurance coverage, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Pharmacy Operations: Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining patient profiles, updating records, and processing insurance claims. Adhere to pharmacy policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations, to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Quality Assurance: Assist in conducting quality assurance activities, such as medication reconciliation, medication therapy reviews, and inventory audits. Report any medication errors, adverse drug reactions, or safety concerns to the pharmacist promptly.
• Patient Education: Provide patient education on medication use, dosage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Offer counseling and support to patients in understanding their medication therapy and adhering to prescribed regimens.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program or certification from an accredited institution preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent licensure/certification required. Maintaining licensure and completing continuing education requirements as necessary.
• Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred. Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards of practice.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in pharmacy computer systems, prescription processing software, and basic math calculations. Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues. Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
