Job Description
The Salesforce Technical Lead will also play an essential leadership role, mentoring technical team members, collaborating across departments, and driving continuous improvement in DevOps, automation, testing, and platform governance. Through these contributions, the position directly strengthens operational efficiency, data quality, and the organization’s ability to deliver on its mission with clarity, consistency, and technical excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Platform Architecture & Development (35%)
- Ensures Salesforce solutions are designed and implemented according to enterprise architecture standards.
- Maintains high-quality development practices across Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and configuration.
- Communicates technical designs, risks, and impacts to stakeholders.
- Establishes coding standards, code reviews, and testing practices.
- Considers platform limits, data models, and integration implications during design.
- Supports release planning, technical refinement, and execution.
- Completes technical specifications and supporting documentation.
- Serves as a primary contributor to platform design decisions.
Systems Integrations & Data Architecture (20%)
- Ensures integrations and data flows are reliable, secure, and aligned with architectural best practices.
- Maintains data models, data relationships, and data quality standards.
- Communicates integration requirements and dependencies to technical teams.
- Establishes integration design standards and error-handling approaches.
- Considers data governance, system dependencies, and long-term impact.
- Supports integration troubleshooting and performance improvements.
Completes technical documentation for integrations and data flows.
- Serves as the technical lead for integration strategy and data architecture.
Platform Operations, Support & Governance (25%)
- Ensures platform stability, performance, and adherence to governance standards.
- Maintains environment strategies, deployment processes, and release governance.
- Communicates platform risks, issues, and system health metrics.
- Establishes DevOps practices, CI/CD processes, and automation improvements.
- Considers compliance, security, and risk mitigation requirements.
- Supports Tier 3 escalations and conducts root-cause analysis.
- Completes operational tasks related to testing, deployments, and environment oversight.
- Serves as a key contributor to audit and risk management activities.
Collaboration, Leadership & Mentorship (20%)
- Consistently provides technical guidance and mentorship to developers and administrators.
- Prepares architectural recommendations and technical reference materials.
- Handles technical reviews, refinement sessions, and solution workshops.
- Processes technical requests in alignment with governance and priorities.
- Conducts training, knowledge-sharing, and skill-building activities.
- Serves as a liaison between technical teams, program management, and IT leadership.
Minimum Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Demonstrated proficiency in Salesforce development and configuration, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and related platform tools.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, data modeling, integrations, and secure application design within Salesforce.
- Experience with Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware platforms, or event-driven architectures.
- Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM-201 or equivalent).
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel).
- Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute positively to a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer II, Application Architect, or System Architect.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical design, code reviews, or architectural decision-making in a Salesforce environment.
- AWS middleware or integration experience (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS).
- Familiarity with form-building and data-capture tools (e.g., FormTitan, FormAssembly) and their integrations with Salesforce.
- Experience working within structured DevOps workflows, including Git‑based version control, CI/CD pipelines, and Salesforce DX.
- Knowledge of GDPR, data governance standards, and Salesforce security best practices.
- Experience collaborating with program or project managers in agile or hybrid delivery models.
- Ability to mentor technical team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong judgment in evaluating technical tradeoffs and escalating architectural decisions appropriately.
