Role Overview
The Merchandiser at Cult91 will play a central role in driving product performance across our online and offline channels. You will own the product lifecycle — from planning and procurement to presentation and sell-through analysis — ensuring our collections of ethnic wear, juttis, and artisan-made garments are effectively curated, positioned, and available to our customers.
This role demands someone with a sharp commercial instinct, a deep appreciation for Indian craft and textiles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, founder-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
Product Planning & Range Building
- Collaborate with the Founder and design team to plan seasonal collections aligned with market trends and brand identity
- Assist in range selection — balancing bestsellers, new introductions, and artisan-exclusive pieces
- Develop and maintain product assortment plans for both online (Shopify/website) and offline stores
Buying & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with weavers, artisan clusters, and karigars across India to ensure timely production and delivery
- Raise purchase orders, track samples, and follow up on bulk production timelines
- Negotiate pricing and MOQs with vendors to achieve margin targets without compromising craft quality
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels, identify fast-movers and slow-movers, and recommend replenishments or markdowns accordingly
- Work closely with the warehouse/operations team to manage inward/outward inventory flow
- Ensure stock availability aligns with marketing campaigns, festive calendars, and launches
Visual & Online Merchandising
- Partner with the design/content team to ensure accurate and compelling product listings — titles, descriptions, size info, and imagery
- Maintain category and collection pages on the website for a seamless, on-brand shopping experience
- Support in-store visual merchandising at Cult91 retail locations, ensuring displays reflect brand aesthetics and current trends
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyse weekly/monthly sales data by category, SKU, and channel to surface insights
- Prepare sell-through reports, stock ageing reports, and OTB (Open-to-Buy) updates for leadership review
- Identify opportunities to improve product performance and contribute to data-driven buying decisions
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with the marketing team to plan product launches, campaign timelines, and promotional activities
- Coordinate with customer service to address product queries and stock-related customer issues
- Support new collection launches and festive drops end-to-end
