Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably with experience on Oil & Gas projects. The ideal candidate should possess a combination of engineering design knowledge and data management expertise, with hands-on experience in AVEVA E3D, engineering databases, and intelligent engineering information systems. The role involves managing, validating, integrating, and maintaining engineering data throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain engineering data, metadata, and project information across multiple Oil & Gas projects.
- Extract, validate, cleanse, and structure engineering data from various sources, including P&IDs, 3D models, equipment lists, line lists, and engineering databases.
- Develop and implement data management workflows to ensure data integrity, traceability, and consistency across project systems.
- Interpret and understand engineering documents, including P&IDs, PFDs, Isometrics, GA Drawings, Equipment Datasheets, and Vendor Documentation.
- Review and validate tagging philosophies, tag structures, and engineering naming conventions in accordance with project and client standards.
- Utilize AVEVA E3D to review engineering models, extract project information, and support data verification activities.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Civil) to ensure accurate data integration and synchronization.
- Support engineering data migration, data transformation, and data consolidation activities between legacy and project systems.
- Generate engineering data reports, dashboards, and quality metrics for project stakeholders.
- Perform data quality checks, identify discrepancies, and resolve data inconsistencies across engineering deliverables.
- Support digital engineering, asset information management, and handover data preparation activities.
- Ensure compliance with client standards, project specifications, and data governance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Engineering Data Management, Design Engineering, or Digital Engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong understanding of engineering workflows and project execution in Oil & Gas facilities.
- Hands-on experience with AVEVA E3D and engineering information management systems.
- Thorough understanding of:
- P&IDs and Process Engineering documentation
- Equipment and Instrument Tagging Systems
- Engineering Data Structures and Naming Conventions
- Line Lists, Equipment Lists, Cable Schedules, and Asset Registers
- Engineering Document Control Processes
- Ability to interpret and correlate engineering information across multiple disciplines.
- Strong analytical, data validation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and engineering data reporting tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA E3D, or other engineering information management platforms.
- Familiarity with EPC project execution and engineering data deliverables.
