Role Description The Assistant Professor (Pharmacy) is a full-time, on-site role based in Jalandhar. The position involves delivering lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials across pharmacy subjects, ensuring syllabus coverage as per regulatory and university guidelines. The role includes designing lesson plans, preparing teaching materials, supervising laboratory work, and mentoring students in academics and projects. The Assistant Professor will conduct and guide research activities, support scholarly publications, participate in curriculum development, and engage in academic administration such as examinations, student evaluation, and departmental meetings. The role also includes contributing to accreditation processes, quality assurance initiatives, and fostering industry and community engagement relevant to pharmacy education and practice.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree (M.Pharm) in a relevant Pharmacy discipline from a recognized institution; Ph.D. in Pharmacy or related field preferred.
- Strong foundation in core pharmacy subjects such as pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, and clinical pharmacy.
- Demonstrated classroom teaching ability, including lesson planning, student engagement, and effective use of teaching aids and technology.
- Experience in conducting laboratory classes, handling modern lab equipment, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Research aptitude with involvement in projects, publications in peer-reviewed journals, paper presentations, or conferences in the pharmacy domain.
- Ability to design and assess assignments, internal evaluations, and examinations while maintaining fairness and academic integrity.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English for lectures, academic documentation, and scholarly communication.
- Comfort with digital tools for teaching and learning, such as Learning Management Systems, presentation software, and online academic resources.
- Strong mentoring and counseling skills to support students’ academic progress, professional development, and ethical practice in pharmacy.
- Collaborative mindset for working with colleagues on curriculum development, accreditation, and departmental initiatives.
- Familiarity with pharmacy education regulations and guidelines from bodies such as the Pharmacy Council of India and relevant universities.
- Previous teaching or academic experience in a pharmacy college is an advantage but
