Job Overview:

The Group Balance Sheet Controller will be responsible for end-to-end ownership, review, and cleanup of balance sheet accounts across the group, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness. The role covers provisions, fixed assets, working capital, accruals, AR/AP balances, and reconciliations.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
Balance Sheet Control & Cleaning
- Drive balance sheet cleaning across entities
- Resolve aged and unreconciled items
- Ensure all balances are supported and documented
Reconciliations
- Ensure monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
- Review GL reconciliations and schedules
- Investigate and resolve variances
Accruals & Prepayments
- Review completeness of accruals
- Ensure correct cut-off and reversals
- Maintain audit-ready documentation
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Review ageing and recoverability
- Monitor provision for doubtful debts
- Drive timely collection follow-ups
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Review vendor ageing
- Ensure completeness of liabilities
- Resolve old balances
Provisions & SMOS
- Maintain SMOS register
- Review adequacy of provisions
- Drive clawback of excess provisions
Fixed Assets & FAR
- Oversee Fixed Asset Register
- Ensure accurate depreciation and capitalisation
- Review asset lifecycle controls
Working Capital
- Monitor receivables, payables, inventory
- Drive working capital improvements
Audit & Controls
- Support external and internal audits
- Ensure audit-ready documentation
- Strengthen internal controls
