About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Design Engineer to act as the primary technical bridge between internal stakeholders, construction partners, design firms, and our customers. This role focuses on the design phase of Crusoe’s data center campus projects. You will ensure that large-scale power distribution systems are designed for safety, compliance, reliability, constructability, and speed of execution.
This position requires an electrical professional with a strong mix of electrical construction and design methodologies, power distribution equipment specification, and a strong background in fast paced design and project management.
The role is in office with options to be located in San Francisco, Denver, or Dallas. Travel will vary, but is anticipated to be 25%.
What You'll Be Working On:
- Advance design for large-scale data center campuses from conceptual sketches to construction ready sets.
- The position may support various initiatives in support of Crusoe’s mission to accelerate intelligence in addition to campus design.
- Design and specify electrical equipment for critical power path - including power transformers, LV/MV switchgear, UPS, data center building power distribution, protection and controls, auto transfer, switchboards, cabling, busway, panels, etc
- Perform critical technical calculations and system studies, including short-circuit, protection, arc-flash, load flow, harmonics, dynamic transient analysis studies
- Review drawings, specifications, and shop drawings prepared by external consultants to ensure strict compliance with the project’s Basis of Design.
- Support the Field Engineering team by aiding rapid resolution of RFIs, reviewing submittals, and providing design clarifications during the construction phase.
- Participate in factory witness testing (FWT) for engineered or complex electrical equipment.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of electrical engineering design experience, with a heavy emphasis on data centers or mission-critical industrial facilities.
- Expert-level knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant NFPA/IEEE standards.
- Proficiency with engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM)
- Proven track record of successfully taking complex electrical designs from schematic phases through to construction execution.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate closely with mechanical, real estate, and power engineering teams.
Bonus Points:
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Experience modeling systems with alternative energy inputs and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Familiarity with SCADA and Emergency Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
- Mega Project in-field construction experience for data centers or similar mission critical facilities.
- Experience working with hyperscale clients in a fast paced design/build environment.

Compensation Range
Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $195,000 -$225,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
