Job Summary

The Sales Manager – Passenger Vehicles is responsible for leading the dealership’s vehicle sales operations to achieve volume, revenue, market share, and profitability targets. The role manages the sales team, monitors lead conversion, ensures adherence to manufacturer standards, and delivers outstanding customer satisfaction. The Sales Manager also oversees sales planning, forecasting, inventory coordination, and performance management.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales Planning and Target Achievement

  • Develop monthly and annual sales plans aligned with dealership and OEM objectives.
  • Achieve targets for vehicle sales, gross margins, and market share.
  • Monitor inquiry generation, test drives, bookings, retail deliveries, and cancellations.
  • Analyze sales trends and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership and Performance Management

  • Recruit, train, coach, and motivate Sales Consultants and Team Leaders.
  • Set individual targets and monitor daily performance.
  • Conduct sales meetings and performance reviews.
  • Implement incentive and recognition programs.

Lead and CRM Management

  • Ensure all showroom, digital, telephonic, and referral leads are captured in the CRM system.
  • Monitor follow-up discipline and lead conversion ratios.
  • Review aging inquiries and ensure timely closure.

Customer Experience

  • Maintain high standards of showroom presentation and customer engagement.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues.
  • Improve customer satisfaction and referral generation.

Sales Process and Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to OEM and dealership sales processes.
  • Monitor documentation for finance, insurance, registration, and deliveries.
  • Maintain audit readiness and process compliance.

Inventory and Delivery Coordination

  • Coordinate with stock, logistics, and registration teams.
  • Optimize inventory movement and reduce aging stock.
  • Ensure timely and flawless vehicle deliveries.

Business Development

  • Plan local marketing campaigns, events, and corporate sales initiatives.
  • Build relationships with corporate and institutional customers.

Financial Performance

  • Manage discounts within approved limits.
  • Improve profitability through finance, insurance, accessories, and extended warranty sales.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred.

Experience

  • 5–10 years of automobile sales experience.
  • At least 2–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience in passenger vehicle brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor Company, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Volkswagen, or Honda Cars India is preferred.
