<p>Trial Specialists provide advanced, complex assistance in support of client case teams, and supervise and coordinate all aspects of trial, mediation, arbitration or any other manner of dispute resolution on behalf of firm clients. Trial Specialists have a minimum billing requirement of 1600 hours per year.</p>
<p><strong><u>Job Responsibilities</u></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provides trial support on active litigation matters, serving and attending as lead paralegal on trial teams.</li>
<li>Assists with preparation for trial, including preparation of witness binders, deposition designations, review and organization of materials for use by team attorneys, preparation of electronic presentations, and coordination of litigation support function.</li>
<li>Coordinates all trial logistics, including setting up the war room(s), reserving hotel and office space, and securing necessary equipment and supplies.</li>
<li>Coordinates document production process, including review for responsiveness and/or privilege, tagging and redaction, and assisting with logistics of coordination.</li>
<li>Assists with preparation of trial presentation and/or graphics.</li>
<li>Organizes, labels, and tracks trial exhibits, documents, and evidence.</li>
<li>Assists with preparation and maintenance of all case-related electronic resources.</li>
<li>Cite checks, Blue Books and proofreads pleadings, briefs and other documents as required.</li>
<li>Drafts correspondence, memoranda, and pleadings.</li>
<li>Troubleshoots and identifies potential concerns, determines solutions or alternatives, and develops/implements a resolution.</li>
<li>Analyzes, indexes and summarizes documents, data, and depositions as required by team attorneys and/or clients.</li>
<li>Coordinates discovery and/or filings with courts or government agencies.</li>
<li>Other senior-level litigation and trial support activities as required and assigned.</li>
<li>Serves as firmwide resource within Practice Support department for trial-related issues and concerns; assists with skills development as appropriate.</li>

<ul>
<li>Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.</li>
<li>Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts, regarding matters of a routine nature.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).</li>
<li>Ability to apply technical knowledge or guidance, analyze and interpret data from several sources to solve problems by applying precedent or extrapolating from previous experience.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail, including superior spelling and grammar.</li>
<li>Must possess the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate information with tact and courtesy.</li>
<li>Ability to follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of litigation databases, including but not limited to: Relativity, West Case Notebook, CaseMap, Concordance, Trial Director, Sanction, etc.</li>
<li>Ability to supervise and provide direction, mentoring, training and assistance to practice support and other office staff as appropriate.</li>
<li>Substantial knowledge of legal concepts, methodologies, and relevant area of law.</li>
<li>Ability to travel on short notice and work more than 37.5 hours a week if necessary.</li>
<li>Ability to safely lift, move and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><u>Education</u></strong></p>
<p>The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree. Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.</p>
<p><strong><u>Experience</u></strong></p>
<p>The position requires a minimum of ten years of experience as a senior level litigation paralegal that included successful management of people, programs, finances/budgets and projects. Comprehensive familiarity with all aspects of trial support required, along with multiple recent courtroom experiences in first-chair role. Hotseat and graphic design experience strongly preferred.</p>

<p>NY: $131,000 - $172,000</p>
<p>Denver, CO; LA, CA; Orange County, CA; Boston, MA and Washington, DC: $125,000 - $164,000</p>
<p>SF: $137,000 - $180,000</p>
<p>Chicago: $119,000 - $156,000</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.</p>
