Job Summary
Our Legal Talent Acquisition teams work collaboratively to oversee the recruitment of individuals with exceptional legal talent and their efficient and effective integration into the Firm. This comprises the recruitment programs for partners, counsel, and associates, inclusive of the management of the summer associate program, on-campus recruitment, and lateral recruitment support across practice groups.
The Senior Manager of Legal Talent Acquisition will drive a forward-thinking lateral recruiting process across our U.S. offices, delivering a high‑touch, inclusive recruiting and onboarding experience for associate, counsel, scientific advisor, and patent agent candidates.
This hybrid role requires working in the office three days per week. The firm is open to candidates located in New York City, Chicago, and Washington, DC.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the full-cycle lateral recruitment and onboarding process for associate, counsel, post-judicial clerkship attorney, scientific advisor and patent agent, hires.
- Serve as primary contact for key stakeholders including candidates, outside search firms, vendors, and law school alumni relations counselors.
- Proactively develop and execute firm-wide recruiting strategies, collaborate with firm leadership, manage recruiting pipelines, and oversee candidate diligence, onboarding, and integration.
- Guide firmwide recruiting projects including but not limited to branding, communications, and marketing, interview training, development of internal best practices and guides, and candidate engagement activities.
- Oversee organization and maintenance of high-quality candidate information, files, and databases including tracking system workflows of application materials and candidate evaluations, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Synthesize and prepare recruitment data/statistical reports, including analysis of internal data and current market trends.
- Manage annual recruitment budgets, track and approve expenses.
- Stay current on legal industry recruitment best practices and trends.
- Directly responsible for managing the development and performance of and providing regular, constructive feedback on the overall performance of all direct reports and/or other key stakeholders.

- Ability to handle highly sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Advanced knowledge of MS suite to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, and standard work documents.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, Flo Recruit, LinkedIn Recruiter, Pirical, and AI tools preferred.
- Must be flexible to work occasional extended hours during busy periods, attend events and travel when needed.
Education
- This position requires a bachelor's degree. Equivalent job experience and training may also be substituted.
Experience
- The position requires a minimum of six to eight years of professional recruitment experience with increasing levels of responsibility in a law firm, law school, legal recruitment agency or similar professional services organization is required. At least two (2) years of experience managing and training a direct report is preferred. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience with attorney recruitment in a large law firm setting.
Pay Range
NY: $150,000-$215,000
DC: $140,000-$200,000
CH: $132,000-$175,000
Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
