Overview of the Role

Our leading television provider client is seeking a Product Designer who specializes in design systems. This position requires deep expertise in establishing and scaling a design system, including foundational structure, naming conventions, and component logic. The role supports the evolution of a multi-platform design system and the broader user experience across a suite of video and connected-device products. You will work within a balanced product team, collaborating with product management and engineering to ensure usability, consistency, and high-quality design execution. The work involves complex component architecture, multi-viewport builds, documentation, prototyping, and user-centered research to enhance how customers experience the product ecosystem. Candidates with experience using AI within design system workflows are strongly preferred.

The Basics

• Duration: 3 months (could extend or convert to FT)
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
• Location Requirements: Onsite in Englewood, CO
• Portfolio Requirements: Must show large-scale component work, multi-viewport builds, use of variables, and quality execution in areas such as color and spacing

Top 3 Required Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of experience in UX or Product Design, including end-to-end application of modern design practices.
• Expert proficiency with Figma, with significant experience building complex design system components, using variables, and maintaining system-level structure across multiple viewports.
• Experience designing for multiple platforms such as desktop, mobile, TV, or other application-based environments (TV or app experience strongly preferred).

Other Qualifications

• Experience shipping products as part of a cross-functional product team.
• Strong interaction design, information architecture, research, and usability testing skills.
• Ability to work in highly complex system environments with strict structure, naming conventions, and component logic requirements.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and translate insights into clear design direction.
• Familiarity with agile, Design Thinking, and user-centered design processes.
• Skilled with modern design tools, including DSM and AI-assisted design tools (AI in design system workflows is a plus).
• Strong understanding of color, spacing, and system quality standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong user-first mindset and ability to identify unmet user needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the evolution, adoption, and governance of the enterprise design system.
• Build, refine, and document reusable design system components that function across all five viewports and align with engineering implementation requirements.
• Support complex system work, including naming conventions, component architecture, and multi-platform logic.
• Partner closely with engineering to troubleshoot components, build page templates, and ensure system elements translate accurately into code.
• Use user research and data to inform design decisions.
• Improve the user experience across the product suite through interaction design, task flows, and UI architecture.
• Lead prototype creation, usability testing, and maintenance of prototype libraries.
• Create and maintain documentation that communicates design system logic, structure, and rationale.
• Give and receive design feedback to support continuous quality improvement.
• Advocate for user needs throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams.
