About the Role
The Curriculum Developer will play a key role in building the content for Correlation One's new Aerospace Technician program, which prepares working adults for skilled technician roles in commercial aerospace manufacturing. This person will be responsible for designing and writing lessons, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises — delivered virtually and supplemented by shipped practice kits — that build foundational aerospace manufacturing skills including engineering drawing interpretation, precision measurement, materials handling, introductory soldering, and aerospace safety standards. A successful curriculum developer will have hands-on aerospace or advanced manufacturing technician experience and will work closely with Correlation One's Learning Experience Design team and employer subject-matter experts to ensure curriculum aligns with validated skill requirements. The ideal candidate is an excellent educator with experience training adult learners of varied (including beginner) backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and advise on proposed curriculum for course to ensure the correct concepts are included
- Develop lessons, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises (including kit-based virtual labs) that cover foundational skills for aerospace technicians.
- Iterate on curriculum based on feedback from employer SMEs, ensuring content stays aligned with current aerospace industry standards, tooling, and certification pathways (e.g., OSHA 10, GD&T, IPC J-STD-001 prep)
- Collaborate with other curriculum developers and Peer Review lessons, leaving feedback for improvements
- Review lessons and QA exercises, documenting any changes in QA Documentation.
- (if necessary) Weekly and ad hoc meetings: Participate in weekly meetings with the C1 content developer to ensure the team is on track to prepare all curriculum and related materials, answer questions, discuss any relevant decisions, etc.
- Deploy content on the platform (training will be provided)
Your expertise
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or related technical environments (Structures, Assembly & Integration, or Composites preferred)
- Demonstrated depth in at least one of the following: Structures (drilling, fastening, structural assembly), Assembly & Integration (system assembly, fluid systems, harness routing), or Composites (layup, bonding, surface prep)
- Familiarity with technician-level skills aligned to aerospace roles, including blueprint reading, precision measurement tools, and hands-on work (e.g., drilling/fastening, system assembly, torque application, or composite layup/bonding)
- Experience working from written work instructions, engineering drawings, and quality specifications in a production or aerospace environment
- Experience with aerospace safety and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, 5S, FOD)
- 3+ years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or technical writing — bonus for technical or vocational training contexts
- Experience teaching, training, or mentoring adult learners in technical subjects
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for beginner learners
- Comfort with digital collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Office)
- Comfortable working remotely, independently, and self-motivated to succeed
