Job description
CoreWeave is seeking a highly skilled and motivated electrical engineer to join our NPI team. This unique role offers the chance to be a foundational member of a small, rapidly expanding NPI team. As the second electrical engineer hired, you will possess significant influence over the team's cultural development and the evolution of CoreWeave's bespoke server infrastructure. Your work will involve direct engagement with pioneering technologies such as CXL, PCIe, and DDR, alongside sophisticated SI/PI analysis. You will manage the entire product lifecycle, from initial schematic and layout phases through to validation and high-volume manufacturing. By addressing critical challenges in hardware reliability and signal performance, you will directly enable the scaling of a massive global compute fleet. This is an exceptional opportunity for an engineer seeking high-impact, early-stage involvement within a hyperscale environment.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to server design and support board-level hardware development.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers developing cutting-edge AI/ML hardware.
- Participate in reviews of JDM/ODM high-speed designs, including signal integrity simulations, with guidance from senior engineers.
- Support power design reviews and work closely with power engineers.
- Assist in debugging hardware issues and help incorporate lessons learned back into the design process.
- Participate in schematic, board, and power design reviews.
- Support designs from concept through production, developing deeper ownership over time.
- Work closely with cross-functional development teams to contribute to high-quality, high-performance, and reliable products.
- Support manufacturing teams in production readiness activities.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and grow your hardware design skills alongside senior engineers.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience developing hardware systems with exposure to high-speed design interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, or Ethernet.
- Foundational skills in electrical board design.
- Experience contributing to product design as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with server technologies including thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of PCB, PCBA, and system assembly manufacturing, including testing.
- Solid debugging skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Growing understanding of design for mass manufacturing and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to signal integrity simulations and analysis.
- Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the full product lifecycle from concept to production.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical teams.
The base salary range for this role is $153,000 to $204,000. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).
