Job Title
Tooling & Design EngineerResponsible for all aspects of design, development, and implementation of manufacturing solutions for large projects impacting products and processes with multiple facility or cross-business unit impact. Work independently with minimal supervision, take ownership of engineering projects, engage in customer and supplier collaborations, and lead initiatives in process improvement, cost management, and production expansion. Develop and drive implementation of solutions for process/product improvement, quality control, and customer service.Roles & Responsibilities:
• Minimal supervision, ownership responsibility.
• Product costing & technical review for repeat items, revision changes, or new item with similar design (NPI levels 1-3 ). Costing, design, and oversight for new items with new design that fit existing capabilities (NPI 4).
• Review and approval of Customer approval drawings.
• Work closely with commercial partners and support customer interactions.
• Support and manage prototyping efforts including hands on creation, evaluation, and collaboration with R&D.
• Set up and update BOM and routings. Validate and maintain BOM and routings. Participate in and/or perform process and product audits and assist with supplier audits from a technical perspective.
• Develop, update, review, and approval of production drawings.
• Develop, review, and approval of tooling design.
• Review and optimization of tooling path and part set up.
• Lead and support projects such as scrap and productivity, EHS, New Product Introduction, escalations, roadmap, and expansion.
• Management and ownership Change Control.
• Support operators and gather production feedback.
• Utilize process control systems (PCS) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) to effectively maintain and improve product and process quality .
• Manage cost controls and develop tools such as dashboards.
• Subject matter expert on specific processing techniques and materials.
• May judge and handle suspect or abnormal product/process.
• Ownership of systems such as drawing management, templates, dashboards etc...
• Provide assistance and guidance to lower-level engineers.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field and/or 4 years of experience in similar discipline.
Experience:
• 8+ Years

• Manufacturing Knowledge – Apply thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining techniques, and associated tooling/fixture design.
• Materials Knowledge – Apply thorough understanding of materials and characteristics, including material formulations and shrink rates for manufacturing product lines.
• Mathematical Reasoning - Understand and apply complex mathematical concepts, including geometry and trigonometry; make recommendations for changes, apply concepts and theories to evaluate manufacturing improvements, and use complex statistical techniques to enhance processes.
• Project Management - Lead projects through all phases, from initiation to closing, by defining scope, planning resources, managing teams, ensuring effective communication, and documenting progress and results.
• Technology Use - Learn new technology platforms with minimal guidance, train others, select effective platforms for non-routine tasks, and develop best practices. Proficient with job specific software such as (e.g., CAD, SPC).
• Time Management - Delegate tasks appropriately, create schedules with deadlines and goals, adhere to routines and schedules, and use automation and standard work to optimize output.

Target Hiring Range
Annual Salary: USD 87,584.00 - USD 115,611.00Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
