Job description
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN WINCHESTER, VIRGINIA. There is no relocation or sponsorship available for this role.
Ensure a high quality standard of raw materials through collaboration with Operations, Development, Purchasing, and External Suppliers.
This position will serve the dual function of SQA and supporting internal problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts while also supporting the Internal Audit Program.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
SQA
- Monitor raw material quality trends and issues.
- Coordinate supplier complaint activities and evidence collection.
- Drive supplier problem-solving, accountability, and improvements related to series production quality claims.
- Identify need and initiate supplier escalations.
- Schedule and perform supplier escalation audits at supplier locations.
Internal Problem-Solving / Continuous Improvement
- Monitor production KPI and quality trends.
- Support Structured Problem-Solving activities related to customer claims and internal escalations.
- Identify need and initiate Structured Problem-Solving based on internal quality trends.
Internal Audits
- Support annual and 3-year internal audit program development.
- Perform internal system and process audits.
- Document findings and support with follow-up.
This position requires proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) to ensure safe and effective performance of duties, such as following detailed written procedures, documenting work accurately, and communicating with colleagues and clients.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or other STEM fields preferred.
- Candidate work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Work Experience
- 5 years manufacturing experience minimum.
- 3 years experience in quality or engineering.
Competencies:
- Verbal and written communication.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Mapper, etc.).
- Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
- ISO 9001 / IATF 16949.
- Structured Problem-Solving (8D, A3, PDCA).
- Statistical / analytical analysis.
- Internal / external auditing (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3).
- Quality Management Systems.
