Summary

The Junior System Administrator supports the daily operations of enterprise server and infrastructure environments, ensuring reliability, consistency, and adherence to established procedures. This role handles routine administration, supports maintenance activities, and assists senior team members with troubleshooting and infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic system administration for Windows servers, including user provisioning and directory management
• Execute routine maintenance, patching, and system updates following established procedures
• Monitor backups, validate job success, and assist with data recovery efforts
• Respond to service tickets, troubleshoot issues, and escalate when necessary
• Support change management processes and maintain accurate system documentation
• Conduct system health checks and report performance or availability issues
• Collaborate with internal teams to support ongoing operations and service continuity

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in system administration or IT support
• Basic experience with Windows Server environments
• Familiarity with Active Directory and user account management
• Understanding of backup and recovery processes
• Experience working with ticketing systems in a service-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
• Effective communication and documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and escalate issues appropriately
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

Bonus Skills

• Experience with scripting (PowerShell or similar) for task automation
• Exposure to virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
• Familiarity with storage systems and shared infrastructure
• Understanding of cloud or hybrid environments
• Knowledge of change management processes and ITIL practices
