About The Role: Contract PHP Developer (Laravel Expert)

We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer with strong Laravel expertise for a delivery-focused contract engagement. This role is ideal for a contractor comfortable working within existing codebases, efficiently shipping features, and upholding a high standard of code quality.

You will collaborate closely with project management to implement scoped work, resolve issues, and support ongoing platform development across multiple client projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scoped features and fixes within Laravel applications.
• Build and maintain clean, reusable Blade templates.
• Implement backend logic, integrations, and APIs as required.
• Translate designs into responsive, production-ready views.
• Debug and refactor existing code to improve stability and maintainability.
• Follow defined ticketing, PR, and definition-of-done standards.
• Provide clear, timely updates tied to assigned tickets.

Requirements

• 3–7+ years of hands-on PHP and Laravel development experience.
• Strong, practical experience with Blade templating.
• Solid understanding of MVC architecture and Laravel conventions.
• Experience working with MySQL or equivalent relational databases.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Proficient with Git-based workflows and pull requests.
• Proven ability to deliver independently in a contract setting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment workflows (specifically CI/CD for PHP on AWS with CodePipeline, ECS, ECR, App Runner, Kubernetes and Terraform).

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with: Moodle, Power BI, PostgreSQL.

Nice to Have

• Livewire or Inertia experience.
• Tailwind CSS or similar utility-first frameworks.
• Agency or multi-client project experience.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $50.00-$62.00 per hour
