Job Description

We are currently searching for a highly experienced and forward-thinking Operations/Engineering Manager to lead the manufacturing operations for our plant located near London, Ontario.

The role involves leading teams, ensuring schedule adherence, and driving continuous improvements (production, quality, logistics, policies and procedures, etc.) to achieve production targets that meet or exceed business goals to enhance customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in change management, lean manufacturing, and process optimization, with a proven ability to drive efficiency, quality, and safety within a high-volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage budgets and ensure company goals are achieved or exceeded
  • Improve production standards through time studies and other standard data development methods
  • Support long-term strategic plans and implementation of production procedures
  • Directly manage and lead the Production Supervisor teams
  • Improve line efficiencies improving quality levels, and the reduction of waste
  • Develop plant or process flow layouts to improve productivity, provide cost analysis as required by the management team
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to streamline manufacturing processes, reduce lead times, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Track and report key performance metrics (KPI’s) related to production yield, and ramp timelines to the leadership team
  • Support and enhance 5s program, assist with the selection of capital equipment
  • Promote a positive team environment with members of the Management Team to ensure coordinated efforts are supporting business goals
  • Exercise compliance with ISO standards when implementing and performing all company procedures, including compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Proven commitment to safety and an injury-free environment through team mentoring, maintain 5S standards and ensure employees are performing tasks safely and in accordance with applicable legislation
  • Plan and maintain staffing levels and shift schedules to achieve plant objective and budgets
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback and effective training to team for skill development, growth, and performance improvement developing a high-performance work culture

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 10 years experience in an Operations or Engineering Management position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through on tasks and commitments
  • Hands-on expertise to drive operational readiness, enhance cross-functional alignment, and ensure successful product launches
  • Proven expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, quality assurance, and supply chain principles
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to present information to peers and leadership in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Netsuite) and manufacturing execution systems (MES)
