This position is 75% remote and all candidates must reside in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana or Kentucky. The hiring manager is open candidates relocating to one of the residing states as well.

Travel Requirement: Up to 25% travel to customer sites and manufacturing facilities
The Technical Account Manager is a customer-facing technical expert responsible for supporting flexographic packaging accounts in a highly competitive ink market. This role partners closely with Sales to stabilize customer accounts, support retention, and resolve technical challenges related to ink performance and pressroom operations.
This position is not a quota-carrying sales role. Instead, the Technical Account Manager focuses on technical support, process optimization, troubleshooting, and customer relationship management across wide web flexographic and gravure printing operations.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of inks and printing processes with the ability to collaborate across sales, R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to deliver tailored solutions for flexible packaging customers.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in one of the following:
- Printing Technology
- Chemical Engineering
- Related technical field
Experience
- 5+ years of technical experience supporting flexographic and/or gravure printing operations
- Experience working with water-based and solvent-based inks in flexible packaging environments
- Proven ability to lead customer-facing technical engagements
- Experience performing press trials, troubleshooting, and technical audits
- Strong understanding of pressroom operations and printing workflows
- Experience working across technical, sales, and manufacturing teams
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Wide web flexographic printing processes
- Gravure printing technologies
- Ink and substrate interaction
- Drying systems and press optimization
- Color matching and defect analysis
- Surface treatments and print adhesion
- Flexible packaging materials and coatings
Preferred Skills
- Experience with color management systems (e.g., X-Rite)
- Understanding of lamination and coating processes
- Knowledge of post-print converting processes
- Familiarity with VOC compliance and environmental regulations
- Experience working in ink, coatings, or specialty chemical industries
