About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Enterprise Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), responsible for leading the strategic transformation of our IT department’s core technology platforms. The successful candidate will drive initiatives to improve organizational productivity, efficiency, security, and compliance. This position will play a critical role in modernizing our technology infrastructure, reinforcing data and financial governance, and positioning the organization to address future challenges. The ideal applicant will possess robust technical expertise paired with visionary leadership, steering infrastructure, data management, and operational practices toward industry‑leading standards.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Transformation
  • Design and implement a forward‑looking IT framework that supports scalability, security, and innovation.
  • Lead modernization initiatives across hardware, software, cloud, and data platforms, aligning with business goals and future growth.
  • Establish road‑maps for IT evolution, ensuring agility and adaptability to emerging technologies.
  • Reliability & Performance
  • Champion reliability engineering principles to improve system uptime, scalability, and performance.
  • Develop and enforce monitoring, alerting, and automation strategies to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Standardize disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity practices.
  • Financial Operations (FinOps)
  • Implement cloud and infrastructure cost‑optimization strategies to ensure financial efficiency and predictability.
  • Partner with Finance and Procurement teams to develop IT budgets, forecasts, and cost allocation models.
  • Monitor utilization, manage operating expenses, and implement financial governance procedures for IT and cloud spending.
  • Build dashboards and reports to provide visibility into IT costs, ROI, and total cost of ownership.
  • Data Management
  • Oversee the reliability, security, and availability of production data systems.
  • Establish governance frameworks for data storage, retention, access controls, and compliance.
  • Partner with business units to integrate data platforms into operational and analytics workflows.
  • Drive adoption of automation and monitoring tools to safeguard data integrity and improve lifecycle management.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Create processes, policies, and playbooks to enhance efficiency and reduce technical debt.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to automate workflows and improve delivery pipelines.
  • Establish KPIs and SLAs to measure success, drive accountability, and continuously refine IT operations.
  • Innovation & Leadership
  • Serve as a thought leader, advising leadership on technology, data, and financial trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Mentor and upskill IT staff, instilling a culture of reliability, fiscal accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure resilient and secure enterprise systems.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance/IT Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or SRE roles, with proven success in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading transformation initiatives in hybrid or multi‑cloud environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with Security and Compliance including Azure Security Center and Defender for Cloud.
  • Experience with Business Continuity and designing high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
  • Hands‑on experience with IT financial management (FinOps) and use of Azure Cost Management + Billing tools, resource tagging and optimizing reserved instances and auto‑scaling.
  • Technical Skills
  • Skilled in Azure Infrastructure administration including Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage and Azure Active Directory.
  • Experienced with automation/configuration tools such as Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Azure CLI.
  • Well‑versed in cloud platforms and container orchestration such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Familiar with observability solutions such as Application Insights and Datadog.
  • Knowledgeable about data platforms such as Databricks and governance frameworks.

  • Strategic mindset with a proven ability to balance technology transformation with cost governance.
