Job Description

Looking for someone with REAL experience, able to pass technical interview WITHOUT an AI (or any other) support, and prove his/her abilities at work on-site/in-office.

Role: SRE/DevOps Engineer (strong intermediate level)

Contract length: 6 months (possible extension)

Location: Toronto (Dufferin/King)

Hybrid policy: 3x per week on-site (mandatory)

Hours per day: 7.5

Start: April

Rate: 70-80/hr incorporated (depends on expertise level and experience)

Interview Process: 2 rounds ( (2nd round will be in-person; interviews will be monitored for AI support)

Client company: telecommunication/ internet provider

Main Deliverables

  • Reliable CI/CD pipelines enabling smooth software delivery and supporting regular and reliable releases
  • Automated deployment and operational workflows
  • Stable, scalable infrastructure defined via code
  • Well-monitored systems ensuring performance and uptime

Technical Stack

  • CI/CD pipeline tools and frameworks: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar
  • Automation & scripting (e.g., Bash, Python or similar)
  • Containerization: Docker
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
  • Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog (or equivalent tools)
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • (Nice to have) Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, DevSecOps tools

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or similar engineering role
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Practical experience automating deployments and operational workflows
  • Solid experience managing Docker-based containerized applications
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Experience working with application and system monitoring tools
  • Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support reliable software delivery
  • Automate deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and repetitive operational workflows
  • Manage and optimize Docker container environments
  • Develop and maintain Terraform code for scalable, repeatable infrastructure
  • Implement and manage monitoring solutions to ensure performance, availability, and reliability
  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, pipeline, and deployment issues
  • Continuously improve DevOps tooling, processes, and platform reliability
