Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Mobile
Contract: 6 months (until end of year) with strong possibility of extension
Locations: Great Toronto, Waterloo, Montreal - remote or hybrid
Rate: depends on expertise level (flexible for strong candidates)
Main Deliverables
- Design, automate, and execute high-quality test coverage for mobile and enterprise applications
- Build and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure quality validation across backend, frontend, and .NET-based systems
Technical Stack
- Automation Framework: Tricentis TOSCA
- Languages / Platforms: .NET framework
- Testing: Manual & Automated Testing (Backend and Frontend)
- AI in Testing: Generative AI, Agentic AI for test creation and execution
- CI/CD & DevOps: Pipeline-based test execution, Shift-Left Testing
- Tools: qTest, JIRA, Confluence
- Methodologies: Agile, Waterfall, In-sprint testing
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years experience in Quality Engineering and testing best practices
- Strong hands-on experience with TOSCA automation framework, including:
- Test case development aligned to business logic
- Test maintenance and execution within CI/CD pipelines
- Proven experience testing .NET-based applications
- Experience testing backend and/or frontend applications
- Hands-on exposure to Generative AI and Agentic AI applied to testing
- Solid experience in test planning, scenario creation, and deriving test cases from business requirements
- Practical experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall environments
Responsibilities
- Develop, automate, and execute functional and regression test cases
- Collaborate with development and product teams to validate business requirements
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps practices
- Perform in-sprint testing and support Shift-Left quality initiatives
- Maintain and enhance existing automated test assets
- Execute manual testing where required to supplement automation coverage
