Telecommunication Technician and Rigger Foreman

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunication Technician and Rigger Foreman to lead our field crews on major Ericsson and Rogers projects across Ontario. This role is designed for a technical expert with a proven track record of leadership, safety management, and high-quality site execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Crew Leadership: Supervise field crews, coordinate daily work plans, and provide technical guidance/training to team members.
• Site Execution: Perform site builds, upgrades, and decommissioning; install, swap, and align antennas and radio units.
• Technical Systems: Install DC power systems (batteries, rectifiers), fiber trunk systems, and jumper cables (termination/labeling).
• Structural Work: Install mounting structures, clamps, and pole mounts; perform civil/steel works on tower structures.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct RF and antenna testing; review and interpret fiber test results (OTDR); resolve site-related technical issues.
• Safety & Reporting: Lead daily safety meetings; ensure 100% safety compliance; complete comprehensive closeout documentation and site reporting.
• Logistics: Coordinate with Project Managers and client representatives; manage site materials and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in telecommunication rigging.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as a foreman or crew lead.
• Deep expertise with Ericsson equipment and site execution standards.
• Comprehensive knowledge of 2G, 3G, LTE, and 5G technologies.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• Working at Heights
• Rigger Competent
• CPR / First Aid
• CSTS / OHS

Physical Demands & Availability:

• Ability to safely climb up to 500 feet.
• Ability to lift and carry loads without assistance
• Availability for overtime, weekend work, and out-of-town travel as required.
