Telecommunication Technician and Rigger

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Telecommunication Technician and Rigger to join our field teams in Ontario. Working on large-scale Ericsson and Rogers projects, you will be responsible for high-quality site execution, antenna systems installation, and tower rigging activities under the direction of the Crew Foreman.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Execution: Perform site builds, upgrades, and decommissioning; install, swap, and align antennas and radio units.
• Cabling & Integration: Install DC trunk systems, fiber trunks, and jumper cables; perform routing, termination, and labeling.
• Rigging & Structural: Install mounting structures, clamps, and associated hardware; assist with civil and steel work on tower structures.
• Testing & Support: Conduct basic RF testing and antenna validation; assist in troubleshooting site-related technical issues.
• Compliance: Follow site documentation and construction drawings; ensure full compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Power Systems: Support the installation and basic troubleshooting of DC power systems and batteries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunication rigging.
• Proven experience working on telecom sites and towers.
• Familiarity with 2G, 3G, LTE, and 5G technologies.
• Strong ability to follow instructions and contribute to a team environment.
• Experience with Ericsson equipment is a significant asset.

Preferred Certifications:

• Working at Heights
• Rigger Competent
• CPR / First Aid
• CSTS / OHS

Physical Demands & Availability:

• Ability to safely climb up to 500 feet.
• Ability to work at heights for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry loads without assistance.
• Availability for overtime and out-of-town travel as required.
