URGENT: Power BI Developer | Bangalore Candidates only

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Power BI Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying sophisticated Power BI solutions that drive data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective, visually appealing, and highly performant Power BI reports.

Note: This role requires the candidate to work in our (South) Bangalore office at least for 4 out of 5 days. Local candidates preferred. No relocation assistance provided.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling and Analysis:
• Design and implement robust data models to efficiently store and retrieve data from various sources.
• Utilize advanced DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create complex calculations and insights.
• Leverage Power Query (M language) to transform and clean data effectively.
• Report Development and Visualization:
• Develop visually appealing and interactive Power BI reports using a variety of visualizations.
• Optimize report performance and ensure smooth user experience.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) to control data access and maintain data privacy.
• Power BI Service Administration:
• Manage and administer Power BI Service, including capacity planning, licensing, and deployment strategies.
• Understand different tiers, capacities, and licensing options to optimize costs and performance.
• Integration and Automation:
• Integrate Power BI with other Microsoft tools like Excel, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Azure.
• Automate data ingestion and report generation processes using ETL tools and scripting languages.
• Cloud Platform Expertise:
• Leverage cloud platforms like MS Fabric, Data Factory, and Data Lake to enhance data pipelines and scalability.
• Performance Optimization:
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in reports and data models.
• Implement optimization techniques to ensure efficient data processing and visualization.
• Collaboration and Mentoring:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
• Mentor and guide junior team members on Power BI best practices and techniques.
• Technical Leadership:
• Understand requirements, design documentation and standards for the BI team.
• Provide hands-on expertise in design, development, testing, and UAT.
• Deploy Power BI reports and dashboards to production workspaces in Power BI Service cloud.

Qualifications

• 2 to 6 years of hands-on experience with Power BI and related technologies.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and visualization techniques.
• Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.
• Experience with ETL processes and data integration.
• In-depth understanding of Power BI Service, including administration, capacity planning, and licensing.
• Proficiency in Row-Level Security (RLS) implementation.
• Experience with cloud platforms like MS Fabric, Data Factory, and Data Lake.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with R or Python for custom visual development.
• Certification in Power BI or related technologies.
