Job Description & Duties:
Accounts Payable Management:
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform 2-way/3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts
- Ensure proper coding and approvals prior to posting transactions
- Prepare and execute payments (cheques, EFT, wire transfers)
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records
General Accounting:
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts
- Support general ledger maintenance and account analysis
- Assist with accruals, prepaids, and expense allocation
Month-End & Financial Reporting:
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare supporting schedules and working papers
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Analyze variances and provide explanations as needed
Compliance & Audit Support:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies
- Maintain organized financial records for audit readiness
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Support compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS)
Communication & Collaboration:
- Liaise with vendors to address invoice and payment inquiries
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies
- Provide support to the finance team on ad hoc projects
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve AP and accounting processes
- Assist in implementing system enhancements or automation tools
Requirements
- Education: Accounting Diploma or Degree required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) is required.
- Location: This is an in-person role located in Windsor
