About the Role

We are hiring a Backend Engineer (Ruby on Rails) to join our growing engineering team.

This is a fully remote role supporting a U.S.-based product , with a strong emphasis on clean architecture, scalability, and production-ready systems. You’ll work closely with Product, Operations, and Leadership to build backend systems that directly power real-world logistics and marketplace workflows.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys ownership, clarity, and impact in a fast-moving startup environment.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain backend services using Ruby on Rails
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries
• Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs
• Contribute to backend architecture and API design decisions
• Write clean, maintainable, production-ready code
• Collaborate with engineers using Git and structured code reviews
• Support systems that operate at real scale with real customers

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience building and maintaining GraphQL APIs
• Solid understanding of backend architecture and API design
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)
• Docker and CI/CD experience
• Experience working in startup or high-growth environments
